WFW Academic Counseling

W.F. West Academic Counseling

Mission Statement
Our counseling program addresses the needs of all students through Personal/Social Development, Career Planning, and Academic Achievement. We work to empower students to achieve their full potential and develop exceptional citizens who actively pursue life-long learning. We believe that our program is most effective when families and the community are integral parts of the educational process.

The Chehalis School District Counseling Program is a comprehensive model based on the standards set forth by the State of Washington and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Model, and endorsed by the Washington School Counselor Association.

Vision Statement
The WF West High School counseling program will empower students to become Career and/or College ready upon graduation. We will collaborate with parents, students, other educators, and community members to ensure that all students achieve success.

High School Student Directory Info Sharing

Under Senate Bill 5593, starting with the 2024-2025 school year, all school districts are required to submit directory (contact) information for high school students and their parents/guardians to OSPI. OSPI is required to make this information available to institutions of higher education for the purpose of informing students of postsecondary educational opportunities available in the state.

For more information on SB 5593, go to Senate Bill 5593 High School Student Directory Information – Sharing with Higher Education Institutions. Please direct all questions about this policy to Darby Kaikkonen, Director of Student Information 360-725-6247, darby.kaikkonen@k12.wa.us
